The problem

In a large manufacturer's process audits, the quality team dealt with files that needed to stay organized and managed. The company needed a system designed to support that team in organizing and managing those files.

What was agreed

Prioritized scope
The project covered the system's structure in both of its parts: the front end, the interface where the quality team works, and the back end, the part that runs on the server.

What was delivered

The quality team has a place to organize and manage process audit files: a system designed for that work.

Who it’s for

The system was designed for the quality team of a large manufacturer.

How it works

A process audit checks whether a process is carried out the way it was defined.

The team works in the interface. The back end, behind it, answers the interface’s requests.

The technology, in plain words

  • AngularJS: a JavaScript framework for building web interfaces that run in the browser; in this system, it is the base of the front end.
  • JavaScript: the programming language of the web, which gives pages behavior in the browser and also runs on servers; here, it is in both parts of the system.
  • LoopBack: a Node.js framework for building APIs, the doorways through which the interface requests and receives data from the server; in this system, it is the base of the back end.

How it went

  1. Assessment

    At the start

An initial conversation to understand the client's request and problem.

  2. Discovery Sprint

    Before building

The problem was understood and the scope defined.

  3. Development

    Between 2017 and 2019

Built in incremental releases throughout the project, not all at the end.

  4. Support and continuous improvement

    After going live

The system then moved into support and maintenance.
