The problem

A food brand needed an official website and a content management system (CMS) to manage it. The site had to present two kinds of content: company content, about the brand, and product content.

What was agreed

Prioritized scope
Three pieces: the homepage of the brand's official website; several dynamic templates, page layouts that display company and product content; and the brand's content management system (CMS), built with WordPress.

What was delivered

An official website where the brand presents itself and shows its products, with content managed through a CMS.

Who it’s for

The website serves the brand and its visitors. The content management system (CMS) serves whoever looks after the website’s content.

How it works

The content is kept in the CMS. Instead of storing the text in the page itself, the dynamic templates pull that content from the CMS and display it on the website. The homepage is the first page visitors see when they enter the official website.

The technology, in plain words

  • PHP: a programming language made to run on servers and widely used in websites and web systems; WordPress is written in it, and it was used in the project alongside WordPress.
  • WordPress: an open-source content management system (CMS) used to create and manage websites; it was the base of the brand’s CMS.

How it went

  1. Assessment

    At the start

An initial conversation to understand the client's request and problem.

  2. Discovery Sprint

    Before building

The problem was understood and the scope defined.

  3. Development

    In 2016

Built in incremental releases throughout the project, not all at the end.

  4. Support and continuous improvement

    After going live

The website then moved into support and maintenance.
